This original US property marked Colt 1911, built in 1918 is in fair overall condition. The over 100 year life of this pistol has taken its toll, and has stripped much of the original finish, replacing it with brown patina and mild pitting in areas. Upon inspection, it would appear that this pistol is built mostly from non matching parts and bears what is believed to be a set of faux ivory grips of some sort. After a very thorough cleaning, the function of this pistol has become quite smooth, and the slide fit is quite tight. Overall, a good gun to start a collection or a fantastic candidate for restoration.
