The Colt SAA, originally designed for the 1872 government service trials, is one of the most well known single action revolvers ever made, with a multitude of replicas still in production. This example is a first gen pistol, made in 1898, however very few of the original parts still remain. The barrel and cylinder have been replaced with .44 Special replacement parts, the frame has had all of its finish removed and the internal lockwork is damaged, making half cock unusable. Luckily new parts for these revolvers are still in production through several sources and it is a somewhat simple mechanism, making this a good gunsmithing project.
