The Deutsche Werke Ortgies’ pistol, was a finely crafted pistol developed in 1916 and was produced between 1919 and 1923. This pistol was the preferred pistol by several German police forces such as the Hamberg police force, the Water Police and the Reich Finance Administration. This example is one of the smaller variants, chambered in the 6.35mm or .25 Auto cartridge. The overall condition is good to very good with light to moderate external wear. it must be noted that the bore appears corroded, likely from corrosive ammunition, though the rifling is still quite deep and sharp. It must also be noted that there seems to be something stuck behind the trigger, making it difficult to fire, this pistol deserves to be stripped to its smallest components, cleaned and any worn springs replaced.
