The German Artillery Luger, or Lange Pistole 08 was originally developed for rear echelon troops who did not necessarily need the long barreled Geweher 98. However, it quickly became the preferred weapon for aircraft crews and assault infantry for its compact size and high rate of fire. This pistol, marked with both its 1918 production date and the 1920 Re inventory date, was one of the 50,000 pistols that the Weimar Republic was allowed to keep after the Treaty of Versailles. Overall condition is very good, considering its over 100 year life and still retains all original parts, except for magazines, holster and assorted accessories. Comes with 2 non original magazines, holster and other attachment.
