A beautiful 12 gauge over and under built by famed Italian maker Ivo Fabbri, regarded as one of the finest gunmakers in the world. The barrels are marked BOEHLER SUPER BLITZ STEEL with ivory front and mid-rib beads, and measure 29 1/16″ long. IVO FABBRI BRESCIA ITALY is engraved on the left side of top barrel. The top barrel is fitted with a vented, tapered, matte flat rib. Barrel flats are stamped with Italian date code reading 1978. The chambers are 2 ¾” with automatic ejectors. Single, non-selective trigger and tang mounted manual safety switch. The lockplates are adorned with beautifully engraved Diana, Goddess of the Hunt scenes, and intricate floral scroll, engraved by Italian Master Engraver Claudio Tomasoni. His signature, inc. C Tomasoni, appears on both lockplates and the trigger plate. The left side of the action depicts Diana and four maidens in a garden with her dogs. Three cooks working over a fire can be seen in a building, their reflection visible in the water outside. The underside of the action depicts Diana with her dog. The right lockplate contains a scene with Diana, three of her dogs, and two maidens outside with marble columns. The stock is a finely figured English walnut with hand checkered grip. The forend features a checkered point pattern, a finely engraved escutcheon under the Anson-type push button, and two engraved tear drops. The buttstock is fit with a black Pachmayer Decelerator pad. The wood, metal, and bluing are in excellent condition, however it would appear that the comb has been re shaped at some point, as the finish is somewhat inconsistent.
