General George S. Patton once called the M1 Garand ” The greatest battle implement ever devised”, and very few people can argue with this assessment. This Example of the M1 Garand is one sold through the CMP, and as such is fully functional but has few original parts. The stock is stamped with a P cartouche without circle and a rack number with AA Cartouche, likely originating from Augusta Arsenal in Georgia. The action has smooth operation and the barrel is in good condition. The bore erosion and headspace have not been checked, but the bore shows strong lands and grooves with minor rounding to the rifling. The rifle comes with the original cardboard box from the CMP as well as the accessories and certificate.
