The Thompson Center Contender was introduced in 1967 as a single shot sporting arm which could be configured as either a rifle or pistol with the proper modifications and could easily withstand cartridges ranging in power from the .22 LR to the .45-70. This example is of the pistol variety and is chambered for the .44 Rem Mag cartridge, a popular choice for hunting. Overall condition of this pistol is excellent, as it appears to have been barely used.
