The Winchester 1895, originally produced from 1895 to 1940, was the first Winchester rifle using a box magazine that allowed it to be chambered in rimless spitzer cartridges. The enhanced strength of the browning designed action also allowed it to use the then new high pressure smokeless cartridges. This example made in 1922 is in good condition for its age, showing only minimal loss of finish on the barrel and moderate wear on the receiver and lever. The stocks are in good condition with minor handling marks and a few hairline cracks around the tangs.
