Beginning in the classroom, we will cover a basic understanding of the techniques and skills required to become comfortable drawing a handgun from a holster, as well as review different situations when drawing from a holster would be appropriate. We will also review each shooter’s individual experience and needs, cover firearm safety and range rules, and give a basic overview of shooting stance.
Once on the handgun range, we will go through the physical five-step process of drawing from a holster, as well as re-holstering. Each shooter will take part in drills that cover shoot/no shoot situations, as well as verbal commands and more.
Itinerary:
12.30pm - Registration in the Griffin & Howe Showroom
1pm – Classroom session
2pm – Move to the range for further instruction and drills
4pm - Return to the Griffin & Howe Showroom
Requirements:
- Semi-automatic handgun or revolver
- 250 rounds of ammunition (can be purchased in the Showroom subject to availability – please request upon booking)
- 3 magazines or speed loaders with carriers
- Strong side kydex or leather holster (IWB, OWB or AIWB. No small of back, crossdraw, shoulder, belly band, SERPA, or ankle holsters)
- Ear and eye protection
- Sturdy belt
- Concealment garment
- Ball cap
$325 per person. 50% deposit to be collected upon booking. Any cancellations must be made more than 48 hours in advance to receive full refund.
Dress code: no blue jeans, t-shirts or open-toed shoes please.
Must be age 21 or over to register for this course. ALL HANDGUNS AND MAGAZINES MUST COMPLY WITH NEW JERSEY LAWS.
