The Marlin 27-S was made from about 1911 to 1932 and was one of the longest production pump action rifles made by marlin. Known for its quality, this rifle still exhibits 65-70% of its original blue, with spotted corrosion in some areas. the stocks are in good condition but show minor oil intrusion from age and the fit up to the left side of the upper tang is somewhat loose. Mechanical condition is very good, with all parts present and tight lockup, though to unlock the slide while cocked the release must be held and the firing pin manually depressed, this may be intentional but I can not confirm as the manual has been missing for a century. The bore shows strong and deep rifling but with minor corrosion, I would rate this as a good shooter of the work is put into cleaning.
