The Highlander Safari was born from a simple requirement: build a dangerous game rifle that carries the 100-year DNA of Griffin & Howe, but utilizes the finest materials available in the 21st century.
For the professional hunter or the international adventurer, the trade-off has always been between the reliability of a heavy traditional rifle and the portability of a modern lightweight build. We’ve eliminated that compromise. By utilizing a Proof Research Carbon Fiber barrel and a custom Defiance Machine action, we’ve created a .375 H&H versatile enough to handle anything from the Big Five all the way to North American elk.

Built on a receiver of pre-hardened 416 stainless steel, the Highlander Safari features a Controlled Round Feed (CRF) extractor. In the world of dangerous game, reliability is non-negotiable. Our action ensures every round is seated and extracted with surgical certainty.

Our commissioned Proof Research barrel reduces weight significantly while providing superior heat dissipation and thermal stability. It’s finished with the classic G&H fixed standing bar and folding leaf iron sights, as well as our hooded ramp front sight, for instinctive accuracy in thick cover.

Choose your legacy. Opt for the timeless elegance of a Griffin & Howe classic Circassian walnut stock, custom-made to your measurements with an ebony forend and G&H 22 LPI point pattern checkering. Alternatively, we offer the rugged, lightweight utility of a McMillan fiberglass stock in Gore® Optifade® patterns Open Country, Subalpine, or Cover, with a lightweight hinged floorplate in the stock, a Pachmayr Recoil Pad, and an adaptor for a Javelin Pro Hunt Carbon Fiber Bipod.
