The Colt SAA, originally designed for the 1872 government service trials, is one of the most well known single action revolvers ever made, with a multitude of replicas still in production. This example is a first gen pistol, made in 1876, the 3rd year of production. Overall condition is fair, no original finish remains and the barrel has been shortened to 4 1/4 inches without fully re installing the ejector rod. The internal lockwork also has taken some damage, the hammer will fall off of the safety sear and half cock is non functional, making loading difficult.
