COLT 1848 BABY DRAGOON 31 CALIBER

Colt’s Pocket Model of 1848, or the “Baby Dragoon” was one of several small frame percussion revolvers developed by Colt before the United States Civil War. Distinct for its features that mirror the earlier dragoon pistols, such as the square backed trigger guard and round cylinder stops. This one is in good overall condition, with much of the original finish being faded to a consistent grey patina, with scattered spots of minor corrosion. The bore has strong rifling and moderate corrosion near the forcing cone. The action is heavily worn, with timing issues and shallow sears which do not hold properly.
