Introduced in 1949, the Colt Commander was the first major production 1911 variant to feature a shortened slide and barrel, offering a lighter, more compact alternative to the full-size Government Model. The Combat Commander followed in 1970, replacing the original alloy frame with a steel frame while retaining the Commander-sized configuration, creating a pistol known for its durability, balance, and carry-friendly dimensions.

This pre-owned Colt Combat Commander chambered in .45 ACP is in good overall condition and shows wear from use throughout. The finish exhibits handling wear across the pistol, along with very light, early-stage pitting scattered throughout the slide and frame. Mechanically, the pistol remains in very good condition, featuring a tight frame-to-slide fit and solid overall function.
