HOLLAND & HOLLAND BADMINTON 12 GAUGE

The Holland & Holland Badminton grade guns were a series of guns made by outworkers for the firm, and finished by Holland & Holland. This allowed for excellent quality at a lower price than a Holland & Holland Royal. This Badminton is built on a typical sidelock action fitted with chopper lump barrels that have a hidden third bite between the ejectors. The craftsmanship shown in this shotgun is very good, on par even with the H&H Royals of the time, but does show wear from use and has been refinished in places, including a full re blacking of the barrels. The stocks seem to have been a bit worse for wear, necessitating a full replacement of the buttstock. This replacement also allowed for the new stock to be properly fitted to the most recent owner, this fitting left the stock rather long at 15″ so there is room to shorten the stock if needed. Overall, this is a wonderful piece of English craftsmanship, allowing the ownership of a prestigious Holland & Holland at a more reasonable price.
