This spectacular pair of Purdey side by side game guns could not be a better representation of the craftsmanship that the English gunmaker has practiced for over a hundred years. The stocks fitted to this pair of guns is of a particularly high grade of walnut and sitting within them is Purdey’s distinctive Beesley self opening action, adorned with fine rose and scroll engraving. The 30 inch barrels, choked to 1/4 & 3/4 share a short section of the receiver’s engraving before continuing in uninterrupted, perfect bluing, until the simple silver bead. In truth, these guns appear entirely unused, with the only wear to be found being that which came from their storage inside their shared case.
