The Winchester Model 71, introduced in 1935, was based largely on the model 1886 and had a few internal improvements. Largely considered to be one of the finest lever action rifles ever made and being chambered in the powerful but versatile .348 Winchester cartridge, this rifle is a fine choice for any north American big game animal. This example, made in 1937 is in good overall condition, with much of the barrel finish being faded to a consistent brown patina and moderate wear to the stocks. After inspecting the buttplate, the fitment would appear poor, indicating that it has either been removed a number of times or replaced entirely.
