The Ithaca 37 featherlight was based upon the John Moses Browning designed Remington model 17. This particular shotgun, made in 1953 is in overall good condition with wear consistent with usage over the last 70 years. It still has over 85% of its original bluing and shows beautiful figure to the stock. This shotgun shows increased wear in the expected locations, mostly on the bottom of the receiver where it would be carried, and at the head of the stock where oil or moisture may have soaked into the wood over time. The only unusual wear is some scratches on the left side of the butstock and a few faded letter stickers on the right side, likely used to spell the initials of the original owner. Overall, the bore is perfectly clean, the action is smooth and the stock fitment is still tight, meaning that this old shotgun still has many more hunts left in her.
