COLT 1849 31 CALIBER

Colt’s Pocket Model of 1849, or the “Baby Dragoon” was one of several small frame percussion revolvers developed by Colt before the turn of the century. This example is in good to very good overall condition considering its age. much of the original finish has faded to a plumb brown and there is pitting in the barrel and area around the forcing cone. the one area of most concern is the forcing cone itself, as the barrel appears to have cracked on the underside where it thins out to make way for the loading arm. Otherwise, timing appears good as well as lockup.
