The Griffin & Howe Youth Marksmanship Academy for ages 8–10 introduces young shooters to safe firearm handling, range behavior, and foundational rifle marksmanship in a structured, age-appropriate format. Built around seven progressive sessions, the program uses .22 rifles and instructor-led coaching to help students develop confidence, discipline, and comfort on the firing line while learning core skills step by step.
Early sessions focus on bench-based fundamentals, including safety habits, range commands, sight picture, and trigger control. As students build consistency, the curriculum introduces new positions and skill applications in a way that keeps the experience engaging, positive, and achievable. The course concludes with a final challenge session that celebrates progress and reinforces the skills students have developed throughout the program.
This comprehensive seven-week course is meticulously designed for young shooters, and generously supported by funding from the Garden State Chapter of SCI and the Hudson Farm Foundation. Space is limited to ensure personalized instruction for every student. All equipment is provided.
The course will run on the following dates from 1.30pm – 2.30pm:

$165 per student for the full course (includes tax, all ammunition, rental gear and rifle).
Dress code: no t-shirts, blue jeans or open-toed shoes please.
Cancellation Policy: Must contact us to cancel 10 days prior to first class to receive full refund, or 72 hours prior to first class to receive a 50% refund (minus credit card processing fees and applicable NJ sales tax). Any cancellations made less than 72 hours before the first class date cannot be refunded.
