ROBERT HUGHES SXS 12 GAUGE

The Robert Hughes Side-by-Side 12 Gauge is a traditional exposed-hammer double barrel shotgun representative of the late 19th and early 20th century sporting era. This example features Damascus barrels, a distinctive construction method created by forging and twisting layers of steel and iron together, resulting in the unique patterned appearance often associated with vintage double guns.

This shotgun is in fair overall condition and shows significant age and use throughout. The Damascus barrels and metal components exhibit light pitting and heavy patina, while the stock and fore-end show dents, scratches, and other handling marks accumulated over the years. The firearm is currently non-functioning. The original hammers are included with the gun but are not mounted. Overall, this is an antique-style side-by-side suitable for display, collecting, restoration, or further evaluation by a qualified gunsmith.
