The J.P. Sauer 38H was developed in 1938 to stay competitive in the commercial market along with its competitors Mauser and Walther, it included a then novel idea, the decocker. Upon the onset of World War 2 all production went towards supplying police and military units. This example bears all of the correct markings for wartime production and is all matching serial numbers. Overall condition is good to very good with mild wear, however the grips are replacement and the supplied magazine is for a beretta, which does not disengage the magazine safety. Since the magazine is incorrect, the pistol appears non functional unless the magazine safety is disengaged manually, at which point the pistol returns to normal function.
