Bearing serial number 16679, this rifle is a “Plain Stock” or Standard configuration, which left the factory before the standardized “Deluxe” styling was implemented.
Walnut stock with skip-line checkering and a fore-end free of the later-era rosewood tips and maple spacers. Original factory barrel layout, fitted with a single flip-up rear elevation leaf opposed to the multi-leaf express sights found on subsequent variations.
“Patent Pending” roll-stamp on the left side of the receiver. This rifle was assembled before international patent offices finalized Roy Weatherby’s proprietary dual-mode mechanism. This system allows the shooter to alternate between semi-automatic and a locked, single-shot bolt action.
Stock condition is good with some handling marks and a small chip behind the tang. Metal condition is good with a few small scratches on the left side of the barrel towards the muzzle, some scratches and wear on the trigger guard, and a small wear spot on the right side of the receiver. Trigger guard screws are marred. Does not come with original magazine.
