The Browning Auto 5 was the first commercially successful, mass produced, semi automatic shotgun. It was designed by John Moses Browning in 1898 and patented in 1900, making it continuously produced in one form or another for almost 100 years. This example of an A5 Light Twenty is in good overall condition, with moderate finish wear across most of its surface. The barrel has been cut and a ” Hartford Gun Choke Co. ADJUSTOMATIC” installed in place of the factory fixed choke.
