COLT 1851 NAVY 36 CALIBER

The Colt model 1851 “Navy” was a far lighter option when compared to the then contemporary Dragoon model revolvers, making it an attractive sidearm. This example is in exceptional condition for its age, still bearing much of its original bluing, color case hardening and silver plating on the grip frame. The action likewise is in fantastic condition with good timing and positive clicks to the sears. Also included is the original case, with accessories, showing that it was originally sold through Parker Field & Sons, in London. As this was a firearm which had been imported from the United to England, it is covered in English proofmarks not only on the barrel, but every chamber of the cylinder.
