The M1911 pistol was the first semi automatic pistol adopted by the U.S. Army and subsequent branches, with the M1911A1 being the improved version developed shortly before the second world war. This example is a fully custom Bullseye competition pistol. Although it has no manufacturer markings on the frame or slide, there are multiple marks across the parts that indicate A.H. Gun Service. The quality of this custom built pistol is quite good, with all of the makings of a proper Bullseye pistol, with the only odd choice being the Crimson Trace Grips. It must also be noted that occasionally, if the slide is dropped on an empty chamber, the hammer can bounce and drop to half cock. This may be due to a light mainspring or wear to the sear.
