GRIFFIN & HOWE TRADITIONAL 28 GAUGE

Griffin & Howe’s Traditional side-by-side reflects the company’s long-standing commitment to building refined sporting shotguns for discerning hunters and shooters. Founded in 1923, Griffin & Howe established itself as one of America’s premier custom gunmakers, producing bespoke rifles and shotguns renowned for their craftsmanship, attention to detail, and field performance. The Traditional series was designed to capture the elegance and handling qualities of classic game guns while utilizing proven modern actions and barrels.

This 28 gauge example was built on an Arrieta side-by-side action and barrel set before being stocked and finished by Griffin & Howe. The result is a lightweight, responsive upland shotgun that combines Spanish gunmaking tradition with American custom finishing. Its trim dimensions, balanced feel, and small-bore chambering make it particularly well suited for upland birds and sporting use.

This shotgun remains in very good overall condition. The metal surfaces are exceptionally well preserved with only minor signs of handling and use. The walnut stock and forend remain in very good condition, displaying attractive figure and only light handling marks. Overall, the shotgun presents beautifully and retains the quality, balance, and craftsmanship expected from a Griffin & Howe finished sporting arm.
