The Winchester model 190 design started production as the more premium model 290in 1964, and later as the more economy model 190 in 1967. The design itself is a tube fed, blowback operated .22 cal rimfire rifle, its simple design and robust construction promote good reliable function. This used example is in very good overall condition, with only light wear and a few areas of surface corrosion on the barrel.
