The Model 1890 proved to be the most successful repeating rimfire rifle for general all-around shooting ever made by Winchester. Approximately 849,000 Model 1890 rifles were produced between 1890 and 1932, after which the Model 1890 was replaced by the Winchester Model 62 rifle. This example, made in 1927 has been entirely refinished, with a particularly shiny hot dip blue. Overall condition is very good, with the new finish having removed practically all of the defects that may have once been present. The bore also is in very good condition, with sharp rifling and very little evidence of corrosion.
