The Mauser 98 is a legendary bolt action rifle well known for its durability and smooth action. This preowned example has been sporterized to accommodate the needs of the American hunter. This original stock has since been reshaped into a sporter. Overall condition of this rifle is fair with notable wear at the muzzle and towards the receiver. The stock has light wear marks which is typical of a firearm of this age. The bore is clean with strong rifling. The vented pad is compressed and hard, likely due to years of sitting in a safe. This is a good candidate for a project gun for a gunsmith.
