General George S. Patton once called the M1 Garand ” The greatest battle implement ever devised”, and very few people can argue with this assessment. The M1D was one of two semi automatic sniper variants of the M1 adopted by the U.S. Army during WW2, with the other being the M1C developed by Griffin & Howe. This example is a CMP rebuilt gun, with paperwork from 1996. The rifle consists of a 1943 receiver, with a 1951 barrel and new stock with leather cheek pad. This rifle comes in the original box from the CMP along with all accessories, condition is as close to new as you can find with these rifles.
