The Stevens Crack shot was intended as a simple and inexpensive rifle for target practice and small game hunting. This example is in good overall condition, with light to moderate wear, which is appropriate for its age. The rifling appears strong, but with light spots of corrosion resulting in small pits. There also appears to be wear between the hammer and breech, allowing the breech to move slightly when locked, as with most antique firearms it is recommended that it be inspected before use.
