WINCHESTER MODEL 70 .22 LINDAHL CHUCKER RIMLESS

The Winchester model 70 is one of the finest bolt action rifles ever made, known for its reliability and accuracy. This example of a pre war Model 70 is in good overall condition, with moderate wear and finish loss, as well as some light corrosion found on the barrel. this rifle has also been modified to be the nearly perfect post war varmint rifle, as its original .22 Hornet barrel has been rechambered for the high velocity wildcat “.22 Lindahl Chucker Rimless” which is a necked down .25 Remington case. This new chambering, combined with the wonderfully precise Unertl Varmint optic with Dehorned mounts would have made this rifle a dream to use for nearly any varmint animal. The one major concern is the barrel wear, this new cartridge is quite aggressive at wearing out barrels. Also a concern is reloading, as custom dies will be needed to reload this cartridge effectively, luckily it does come with quite a bit of brass and a few loaded cartridges, though they are very old.
