This Beautiful Purdey .410 Gauge shotgun, completed in 1981, is a magnificent showing of English gunmaking. The stocks, made of beautiful but subdued walnut, are crafted into a svelte pistol grip buttstock with blued grip cap and wrap around checkering, measuring to a 15 3/8″ length of pull, and the forend shaped into a finely checkered beavertail to protect the hand from the heat of shooting. The action sitting within these stocks is the typical Purdey self opening design, with their distinct rose and scroll engraving under bold color case hardening, accented by the addition of gold inlaid into the safe marking. This piece of functional art is finished by the flawlessly blued 28″ tubes of the .410 Gauge barrel which are choked to Mod and Full for the greatest effect while in the hands of a skilled hunter.
The original stock, made to a 15 7/16″ length of pull, with a 1 5/8″ bend at the heel and a leather covered recoil pad is also supplied.
