The Springfield M1903 Rifle mounted With Warner & Swasey M1908/1913 Musket Sight was the only official sniping weapon used by the U.S. Army, with the Marines preferring the Winchester A5 target scope. The scope went through two iterations, the 1908 model and 1913 model, with only slight variations. This example is a reproduction, built using original, period correct parts and an unissued scope. Overall condition is good to very good, with little in the way of visible corrosion and wear fitting for the age of the rifle, the stocks in particular are in excellent condition, looking to perhaps be later production. The scope is unissued, but original, with wear fitting its age, and one screw broken in its top cover and somewhat speckled internal lenses.. When the mounting bracket was installed, the screws were not staked properly, making them prone to walking out, also the scope suffers from the common problem of a loose fit. Includes carrying case for optic.
