Officially named the 3-Line Rifle M1891, the Mosin rifle is one of the highest produced military rifles in existence, with over 37 million made. Through their long lifespan they have been in use by first the Russian Empire, then the Soviet Union, followed by all of their satellite nations as well as seeing use by many nations across the world as surplus and wartime aid. This example had started its life as a particularly rare Imperial Russian M91, made at the Chatellerault weapons factory in France. This rifle was then either captured or sold to the Finnish, who very oddly appear to have not replaced the stock as the stock is missing the characteristic splice in front of the action, though it does appear that the stock may be of a later generation or of Russian Make. The magazine is also of Russian manufacture. The bore has been counterbored to maintain accuracy standards, but the rifling is surprisingly sharp for a rifle of this age and only shows mild signs of corrosion from corrosive ammunition. Overall, this rifle is in surprisingly good condition and is an interesting example of an amazingly rare variant of the M91 rifle.
