The Chinese M53 is a copy of the Russian M44 Carbine, utilizing tooling and designs supplied by Russia as aid. Due to the ever changing battlefield, these rifles were quickly taken out of Chinese service and given to other countries requesting aid, such as Vietnam. This example is in fair to good overall condition, having seen considerable use. Mechanically the rifle seems sound, having no missing parts and no serious damage. the bore also is in usable condition, with strong rifling and moderate wear.
