The Colt New Service is a large frame, double action revolver designed around the turn of the century, the .45 Colt version was adopted by the U.S. Army as the Model 1909 and later as the Model 1917 in .45 ACP. This example made in 1925 chambered in the powerful .45 Colt cartridge, is in excellent condition for its age, becoming a century old this year. It shows very little wear aside from light rubbing on the muzzle and the occasional ding, but still retains over 95% original finish.
