The M1903 Springfield was America’s standard service rifle from 1903 until 1936 when it was officially replaced by the M1 Garand. Although it saw official replacement in 1936 the 1903 saw continued service as a secondary standard and in reserve units, though possibly its most notable deployment was as a marksman’s rifle. This 1903 A4 was the U.S. Army’s standard marksman’s rifle, it utilized the most accurately manufactured parts that Remington could manage during wartime production and mounted the weaver model 330 scope. Overall condition is immaculate, and the two groove bore is in very good condition, meaning that this particular rifle saw very limited service.
